While the Photoshop Automator Actions ship with a lengthy, detailed, can’t-put-it-down user manual, there are times when an old-fashioned screencast is still an easier way to learn a new piece of software. Assuming that this is one of those times, I have put together the first in a series of movies that detail how to use Automator to drive Photoshop.

Intro to Photoshop and Automator. In this movie, you’ll learn the basics of Automator, and see how you can use Automator to automatically drive Photoshop.

Using Open and Render. To get the most out of the Photoshop Automator Actions, you need to have an understanding of these two critical actions, and this video should help you get up to speed quickly.

Triggering Automator Workflows. There are many ways that you can launch an Automator workflow, and this movie will explain them all.

Diptychs, Triptychs, and Contact Sheets. You can easily create diptychs, triptychs and contact sheets with the Photoshop Automator Action collection. This video will show you the ins and outs of these three new actions.

Resizing Images. The Photoshop Automator Actions collection contains four different actions for resizing your images, and this video walks you through them all, explaining why you use different ones for different batch chores.
